Mstr. Bob Zacharias

Chief Instructor

Mstr Bob Zacharias holds the rank of 7th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, and has been training in the martial arts since 1975. He is a 4th Dan Black Belt Certified Chief Instructor at Krav Maga Hampton Roads and Krav Maga Florida. He started instructing in 1981 in Jacksonville, Florida. In the mid 1980's to the early 1990's, while he was in the U.S. military, he instructed military personnel in more practical martial arts techniques and combatives. Over the last 35 years, Mstr. Zacharias has developed a program to help students of all ages by sharing his knowledge and helping others reach their full potential, living life in peace.

Michael Shorts

Program Director/ Senior Krav Maga Instructor

Michael Shorts has over a decade of experience in martial arts, the majority of which has been spent under the tutelage of Mstr. Bob Zacharias. He currently holds the rank of Expert 4 at the Instructor level in Krav Maga under United Krav Maga Association. He is currently on the path to testing to Expert 5. He has been teaching at Krav Maga Hampton Roads (KMHR) for nearly a decade. Within that time, through the guidance of Mstr. Zacharias, Michael has assisted in building and developing several programs at Krav Maga Hampton Roads. Including the Krav Maga Juniors, Krav Maga Tigers, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Program for both adults and juniors, as well as an Assistant Instructor Program. Today he continues to guide the students at KMHR in reaching their goals in life, and in realistic self-defense.

Echo

KMHR K9 MORALE OFFICER

Echo has been at Mr. Shorts’ side for the past 7 years. He has been training in Krav Maga for the entirety of those 7 years, and continues to further his training to this day. At Krav Maga Hampton Roads Echo is responsible for maintaining, and when needed, enhancing the morale of the students. He takes his role very seriously, and does not appreciate any half-ass measures in training. He is doing well with the punching combinations however still working on his reverse side kick.
